I am a 23 year old medical student who finds it especially difficult to cook healthy meals when you’re only cooking for 1, and when time spent cooking is time lost studying. I eat horribly but I try to rationalize it with the fact I run every day. Do you have any basic recommendations for someone looking to eat healthier on a strict budget/time schedule.
Dear Ryan – Eating healthy while on a tight budget and tight schedule can definitely be a challenge! However, it is possible with a little planning! For my next blog post I’ll give some recommendations on ways to eat healthy on-the-run and on a budget since those are obstacles for a lot of people! Hopefully that will help you!
I am so excited to have found your blog! It is very well-done! (Insert pun if you’d like). Anyway…I am an art teacher, and I am teaching a course of study around food this year. I am making as many connections between food and art as possible, and my first unit is titled “Taste the Rainbow.” That’s how I found your blog-I typed that in Google and found your rainbow of nutrients posting. Would you mind if I placed a couple of links to your blog on my school website?
I have made a link from the Fun with Food page to your blog, and another on the Healthy Food page that links directly to the rainbow post. Let me know if this is a problem in any way.
Thanks!
Talitha
Thank you so much! I’m honored to be on your school’s website! I’m so glad you found my blog and find it helpful. I hope the students, parents, and other teachers find it useful too! I’m so glad that you are incorporating food into your course of study! I think it’s so important to expose kids to different types of food. I actually recently taught nutrition classes to middle school students on eating the colors of the rainbow. Feel free to email me at peaceloveandfoodblog@gmail.com if you would like any more resources or information. Thanks again!
Thank you Kara! I also added a link from my blog: http://siamesechefs.blogspot.com/
My friend Pamela lives in Portland, OR. She is a fabulous photographer and chef, and this is a way for us to collaborate. I will probably be contacting you for more ideas
Thanks again,
Talitha
