I am a Registered Dietitian (RD), a food and nutrition expert, who believes that nutrition is a fundamental piece in achieving health and wellness. I also love food and do not believe in dieting. My personal philosophy on food and the way I stay healthy is based on whole foods, locally-grown produce, eating every few hours, proper portions, and eating well-balanced meals and snacks that fill me up and keep me satisfied. I love treating myself to dessert and believe that sweets can be a part of a healthy diet
. I also follow a pescatarian diet (seafood only) so here you won’t find meals or recipes including meat or poultry. What you will find are meals and recipes that include plant-based foods and the occasional seafood. As you read my blog, you will learn more details about my philosophy on food and how food that makes me happy also happens to be good for our environment and the community in which we live.

I currently reside in Boston, MA but am originally from Buffalo, NY, and my life in Boston began in college. I graduated Cum Laude from Boston University’s Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitative Sciences, and completed my dietetic internship at Mount Auburn Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. I currently specialize in adult weight management and my interests also include integrative or holistic nutrition as well as sustainability. Besides food and nutrition, other things I love include: yoga, nature, the environment, walks, bike riding, and animals.
The purpose of my blog, Peace, Love, and Food, is to ‘inspire a peace of mind around what you eat and a love for nutritious food.’ These days, food can mean much more than a source of energy to fuel our bodies. Food can mean pleasure, comfort, guilt, calories, and the list goes on. My goal for this blog is to help you find a peaceful loving relationship with food. I want to inspire you to eat natural, whole foods. I want to excite you about trying new foods, new recipes, and cooking at home. Through my blog, I will also provide you with tips on healthy eating, exercise, and wellness. Here, you can also find fun facts about various foods so that you can develop a greater understanding and appreciation of what you eat. My blog is a reflection of my life based around food, nutrition, and wellness. It is not meant to pressure you into adopting the same food philosophies that I have. I want to educate you so that you have the knowledge to make your own choices and decisions around food that best fit your own lifestyle. I hope that through reading about my experiences, you will learn various ways to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Peace, love, and food,
Kara
